Slow Stick FPV UPDATED! MAR 31 09
Note start date of this thread.....
UPDATE STARTS ON POST #15... March 31/09 -------------------------------------------------------------- Original post................... Well after flying about 10 times FPV I finally got a video made, and it is the first time that I attempted to take off and land FPV. Apologies for the poor vid quality, recorded to SD card on a cheap Hong Kong unit.

Thanks!
My R/C radio is 2.4ghz and my video TX is 900mhz but there is lots of radio interferance in the area. Also my video RX antenna may not be the best, it is just a 5dbi omni, very small. Edit; Other gear... KX191 camera homemade pan/tilt, manual control, (no head tracker) Range Video R-Vision goggles and 900mhz TX Future Hobbies 900mhz video RX Spektrum DX6i 2X E-Sky gyros on rudder and elevator |

Yes... stock wing and tail surfaces. I'll get some pics up later. In the vid it may look like its going fast but I am running a 700kv outrunner and a 12X3.8 prop. At full throttle she's pretty slow... can't even catch the seagulls.

Ok, I have made some changes to my setup...
New camera, RCV922, made sturdier brackets/support for camera and tx, to move the tx further away from everything. Now using HS82 metal gear servo for pan and HS65 metal gear servo for tilt. Had too much trouble with regular servos stripping gears on my less than stellar landings...

Here is latest vid with above changes...
Still need a better recording device, video splitter, and a patch antenna... |

Update!
Sorry to bring back an old, dead thread, but since I started it, well...
The continuing saga of the FPV Slow Stick... This winter I did not get a chance to do much flying, so I tore apart my SS to rebuild into a bigger, better, badder, FPV machine. 1000mm long carbon fuse is from RC Foam plus the stock SS tail extension. Edit; changed some of the pics cuz a few were not too clear. Oh, have not flown this yet, summer is coming very slowly here, still too Springtime windy, and lots of slushy snow around. ![]() Edit, I forgot to mention... it weighs a whopping 42 oz! ![]() I hope it will fly!!! Yet another edit... Not shown is a 10 amp CC BEC hidden near the rear wing mount. It powers the RC Rx, all servos and gyros. You can just see it in the overview pic, little blue thing between the rear wing mount.
