I strongly suspect (and I admit that this is only a suspicion - but based on experiences to date) that the code required for the upgrade isn't yet ready.

The way the telemetry launch has been handled looks an awful lot like an attempt to meet a deadline but buy some extra time to try and get it working properly.

It's almost a month since telemetry was promised and there's still not a single customer able to demonstrate it working.

That would probably explain the lack of response from anyone at XPS.

I sent another e-mail to XPS and did get a response back.

We recently registered "xtremepowersystems.com" and
moved all of our emails and website to this new site. During the move,
something was not done correctly and we have lost most (but not all)
email sent to us in the last 8 days.
So this is positive.

If the host was decent, could have just gone without a problem. Also could have just pointed the new name to the old IP and had everything be fine. Oh well, it is all over now.

I talked to Scott the other day and Jim was out of the country so this may have delayed some of the stuff you're talking about. My communication has always been good with them so I don't panic if something takes a few days.

Found this posted on the XPS website today:

Quote:
Xtreme Power Systems has been extremely busy doing upgrades for Telemetry Station owners, and making improvements to the various XDP and Telemetry Station utilities. We have spent the last 10 days working with the USB hardware manufacturer to resolve some issues with the USB support via Windows XP and Vista. We believe that we have corrected most (if not all) of the issues that have been reported. All items returned for the telemetry upgrade have been shipped back to their owners. We appreciate your patience during this unexpected delay.
So according to this I should see my stuff back by the middle of next week. Has anyone received there upgraded Rxs?

Alan

It would be nice if XPS would e-mail tracking numbers for items they ship back to us after upgrades, repairs, or whatever.

Received my equipment back this morning. I will see how they work tonight. One of the 8 channel Rxs that I sent in I had modified for end-pins and XPS sent me two replacement cases for 8 channel end-pin receivers. So I think I will modify another 8 ch for end-pins. Thanks XPS.

If they sent you the elusive (read custom) right angle 3 rows pins I would really be impressed. I still wish you could just plain buy these from places like Digikey and Mouser.

No headers, that would have been nice. Anyone I found that has a listing for right angle three row headers all have a minimum order qty of about 5000 units. If it were only a 100 I would have done that, but at $0.49/each that is more that I wanted to pay for them.
