de Havilland D.H. 112 Venom

I built this from a kit by Easy Built models. It has a Mighty Midget 13/2/16TJ, a YGE-4, an AR6300 and 2 B.A. 2.5 g servos. AUW with 2 cell 250mah Full River is 57 grams. I maidened it today and it flew ok until about one minute into it one of the servos cut out on me. I barely managed a decent landing. I think I'll swap them out for some Falcons and see what happens, hopefully they'll have enough power.

Nice jet! The 2,5g servos are of good quality, and despite your problem with one of them, you should keep on using them. They are superior to the falcon servos in every important feature (speed, torque, precision etc...).

i've used a few falcon servos and i don't like them at all. Only the weight is interesting.

do you fly it indoor or outdoor?

I fly outdoor, I don't have an indoor space to fly in. I'm really fed up with the 2.5 gram servos I've had alot of problems with them, they usually work really well for 50-100 flights then they just stop working or start doing weird stuff but these were brand new and I almost lost my plane because one cut out. Maybe I'll try some Diamond D-47's.

Thanks, I've always liked the jet type models, I also like to let my dog chase them for excercise but the bigger stuff leaves her in the dust. The speed on this one is just right at a lower throttle setting.

I decided to just use some BA 3.6's because I had them laying around. It flies well but it's really sensitive on the pitch, I had to turn the epa down to 50% on the elevator.
