“have you seen this video?” WOW!
This video was shot and edited by my buddy Doug Leighton, from the first day flying a new mini 3D plane at a local gym last Sunday. It's loosely based on a Slofly Micro 3D, but the wingspan is scaled down to 18 inches, and fuse profile plus tail shapes have been modified and scaled down too.
Running gear includes:
E-flite Park 250 outrunner
GWS 7035 prop (2S) and 6030 (3S)
PolyRC 20C 300-2S or 300-3S
Castle Phoenix 10 ESC
Spektrum 6100 Rx
BlueBird 3.6g servos (3 ea)
AUW is 3.53 oz with 2S and 3.8 oz with 3S. Most of the vid is shot flying 3S, with over 12 oz thrust to pull the 3.8 plane around (300 watts/lb!).
It's an absolute hoot to fly, especially the WOT snap rolls and loops!
3:1 thrust ratio
PDF prints four 8.5X11 tiles with small no-ink margin
Do not trim off margin, just place side by side and tape.

Post 11 ... Link above;
“The EPP is 8mm thick (appx 5/16"). I think 6-7mm would have been better/lighter for this size plane, but in 8mm it sure is stiff and tough! The carbon tube is 3mm OD.” Dynomike
I will use quarter inch PB III skin one side

This is just what I needed, can use some of the 6mm EPP that has been on my shelf for a year. Sloper Steve/SlowFly got me started back in to planes again. Big EPP fan for take a chance flying, push it to the limit and see how high it bounces! Super Slofly 28 scaled down,or SFO, thank you for kick-starting the old gray matter!

Great, please post back pics and weigh in against blue FFF.
I bet yours will be lighter. What motor?
‘gray matter’ . . . In my cast ‘eye to thumb synchronization’ through old gray matter.
Would like to try something other than bluecore but modest stash to use up first.

Cool! I'm nearly as finished with it as you are.
Anxiously waiting for the electronics to come...
Mine is out of FFF, too. Hope it flies as good as the author's in the vid!
wow, looks like a sweet little plane

just noticed something....
On the e-flite website is says to use only a 2-cell lipo with the park 250 motor.
Won't a 3-cell lipo damage something??
It doesn't look like the author looked into the electronic ratings before putting the equipment together....

I read that the 250 shouldnt be run on 3S. I have one and havent run it on 3S because of what I read.
Here is the thread:

All the best,
***EDIT!!!*** Revised pdf based on 'Gramp's' tweaks to the original design
