What to do with all those Graupner motor stickers

Since they seem to come with every Graupner motor I've got a few now.

Any of you guys decorate your planes with them? I haven't yet. To me they seem a little... dull.

Strategiacally placed they are very useful for hiding hangar rash on your models - things like a small hole in the film covering cause by an errant covering iron tip, or over a small repair. I've got a few on some of my sports models.

For covering similar repairs on my IC models I favour a dummy repair patch of aluminium self adhesive tape with some dummy rivets around the edge created with a piece of slightly sharpened brass tubing and well burnished with a Letraset burnisher.

Brian,

I see you have a flying machine!!! I still have part of mine form years ago, and soon to rebuild it. The wing and tail survived a 100 plus mph impact, but the fuse was a mess!! The pressed in needle assem on the rossi flew out, and was never found. What a fun airplane it is, though...what you got on yours for power? We ran piped rossi .45's back then....I think im just gonna muffle this one this time...but that may change. Wonder what Don Muddiman is doing now?

Later,
David

Mine is the Mini Flying Machine- as done by Peter Kent of the Miniature Aircraft Factory over here- it's a smaller version than the classic Flying Machine. This one had a Cox .049 in originally, but people have been known to put things like Enya .09s or even shoehorn a .15 in there for real manic fun.

I did this as a very sedate e-conversion with a Permax 480 on 8x900AAs or occasionally 8x700ARs- nothing like as racy as those Piped Rossi .45s . On the ordinary sp400 and 7 cells it couldn;t get out of it's own way, which wasn;'t in keeping with the pedigree of the design. I'm considering swapping the 480 for something with a bit more grunt to it as this is an ideal "chuck it in the car" type model.

Theres a better pic in the gallery.

Back to those stickers....

You could hide holes in old wall paper in the workshop.

Brian,

Interesting...I never knew there was a smaller version. Don had a .60 size plan, but the plane seemed more, er, sedate to me. Do you still have that plan? Is it scratch-able, ie are the parts shown?
Sounds like yet another B20 project, hehe!

I probably still have the plan here somewhere- I'll hunt it down and have a look-see to check if all the parts are on there.

Peter Kent's MAF line of kits were taken over by FMK Models just up the road from here-

http://www.glue-shop.com/fmk/kits.htm

they don't list the Mini Flying Machine as current in their line up but the website says that the MAF kits are "coming soon".

The Graupner stickers actually cover up the original COX-POWER stickers
