Flashing light on GY 401 gyro but GEM says all OK.
After my second flight I noticed the red light on the GY 410 flashing slowly. According to the manual that means "no rudder operation signal being input from the transmitter. At this time, the rudder does not operate."
The rudder operates just fine. The lights on the JR R921 transmitter are also flashing. The GEM 2000 monitoring system says all is OK by its rapid flashing light.
What gives? The helicopter is flying just fine.

A flashing LED in that case probably just means that the gyro is getting rudder inputs. If you let it hover and don't touch the rudder stick, does the flashing stop?

Slow flash means its not initialized or not recieving a signal on the gain wire.
Flashing reciever lights means the voltage went below 3.5v and caused the receiver to reset. It could also mean you changed batteries and didn't turn the transmitter off.
If its a case of not turning the transmitter off, then the receiver just took the battery disconnect as you loosing power, it doesn't know any better.
To prevent the slow flash, leave the gyro switch in heading hold and rebind the reciever, its probably booting before the receiever and the fail safe on the gyro channel is rate mode, and the gyro wont boot correctly. Flipping it to heading hold and rebinding will make the fail safe heading hold mode.
