Mini ultrastick or Stevens shaft 25e

Any opinions of the two? Close enough in price but does the shaft warrant a build??? Since the M.U.S is already built I'm leaning that way.

MUS all the way!! Its a 1 hour assembly for the ARF. Flys great on a 3s 2000MAH battery. Just too easy. The plane is very aerobatic but slows down and lands real slow. Good luck, mxerman

I'm looking at two motors for this, the Hacker A30-16m or the Axi 2217-16 on 3S 2200.
I'm soooo troubled.

I think you would probably like the Stevens better. Too bad all the Shaft flyers are up in the parkflyer forum

Shaft is lighter and will fly beter due to lower wing loading.

And building is a snap with SA kits. They almost shouldn't be called kits.

The time is taken in covering. But even that doesn't take too long, unless you want a super fancy intricate design.

The A30-28s or E-Flight 480 is the way to go on the MUS. Max power and about 10-15 min on that battery. 9-6 up to 11-7 prop. You wont go wrong. mxerman

Figures... I just sent money on the A30-16
Well , I'll see how it works. My guess is that it will fly.

Its going to be nose heavy. You will need to find a way to get some weight to the rear. Battery, servos, something.. mxerman

As you may be aware you are looking at two different size/classes of plane. The equivalent size SHAFT to the MUS's 325 squares of wing would be the SHAFT 400 ($60.00) at 340 squares. The SHAFT 25e ($110.00), at 600 squares of wing, is about double the size of the MUS yet weighs in about 32oz (only 5oz more than a MUS!) assuming your MUS come in the same weight as this fella (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=536655) Honestly, it would be an unfair of me to make a comparison between the MUS and the 25e as I even gravitate to the SHAFT 25e over the SHAFT 400 which is already a fantastic sport aerobatic flyer.

What do you like about the 25e over the 400?

Size, The large size of the 25e coupled with the light loading make this feel like an exceptionally large airplane. The plane bounces around much less in windy conditions and simply has a more substantial feel about it when airborne. Otherwise performance and aerobatic capability are similar.

You can get the ultra stick in 25 size too. That said lighter wing loading, more surface= less stability in wind. Extreme example would be a rock and a balloon. Either plane will be great but don't be mislead by inaccurate facts. mxerman

Inaccurate facts....what do you speak of?

While we are at it....what exactly is an inaccurate fact?
