Bills Hill Friday

The last couple of days the wind has been blowing out of west, Keeping an eye on the weather(Wind) on the computer, Friday looks to be a real nice day to get off work early and go to Bills hill !!!!!
Got up there at 1:00 Greg had been there about an hour before I got there. The flag was blowing straight and (UP)
Greg Opus Was rippin, he got it up to 111 on the radar (but it looked even faster)Both his gulps 48"-60" real fast circuits. Paul got up there with his 60" gulp they had both 60"gulps in a nice fast furball !!! I flew my 48" Moth and the Rebel . Real nice day

It was not a good day at Poway today. The wind was good strength at times, but too far south which made it very turbulent. I suspect Poway is better than Bills Hill when the wind is south.

How was Bills Hill today? Anybody go?

It's about 500 ft. vertical climb.. the hill is probably about a 45 deg. angle with no trails. It took me about 15 min. to get there but I am way out of shape. It was definatly worth it though.

I like you guys attitude. It will probably be an ADSJ who finds the next record setting hill. Actually, all the pro's are ADSJ's at heart.

Well it looks like our local dsing spot, Bills Hill, is back in action! Our Spring winds have started to kick in the past couple weeks, and it is acting more like what we flew this summer every day. It has been a long winter though, and even though we were up there every weekend the flying was very spotty. I don't think anyone flew over 100mph for the past 4-5 months. Friday Greg tied the Hill record of 111 mph held by Mark. I have yet to break 100mph at BH, but I did get 95mph yesterday with my F3F Kobra. I can't wait to see what us ADSJ's do up there for the next 7 months.

I finally took the time to download the video on my camera from the last two weekends. We are not close to setting any records, but we sure are having alot of amatuer ds junky fun. Enjoy!

two weekends ago:

MARK DSING HIS EAGLE (1 min 25 sec)

MARK DSING HIS PSS PLANE (0 min 22 sec)

BILL HILL FURBALL (1 min 36 sec)

Note James dsing his composite Mini Blade with all the foam!

And from this wekend:

MARK DSING HIS ARESE (0 min 26 sec)

GREG DSING HIS OPUS (1 min 3 sec)

GREG DSING HIS DESTINY (0 min 14 sec)

GREG DSING HIS DS GULP (0 min 36 sec)

PAUL DSING GREGS DS GULP ON THE PHONE (0 min 53 sec)

notice the phone rings, Paul answers it and talks, while he is still doing curcuits. Even tags the wing tip on the hills edge, recovers and keeps flying while still talking on the phone. Pretty amazing.

BILLS HILL GLASSOFF (1 min 32 sec)

Hey Ray it is more like I need a better camera. You know if you watch the video closer Paul only laps you once. Almost a second time but that is when he taps the edge and you regain your lead. Although he was talking on the phone the whole time :O)
