Here is my Alpha A-4 (before I crashed it) powered by a Don's 4800 motor, Pentium 40 esc and Alpha 5 bladed rotor. As far as I know, she was the fastest Alpha A-4 back then, clocked while flying straight and level at exactly 120 mph w/ radar.

"My First EDF"

Phase 3, F-16:

Wicked Extreme
CC45
CC BEC
Loong Max, 4s, 2250 mAh
Stock fan

Heard too many stories of failed hand launches, for my first EDF. So I gave it "some" power,...and a rudder,... and reinforcing, (thanks to RCG). Still made DIY gear.
Love those runway takeoffs and landings. Crashed and rebuilt many times.
Pretty fast for little investment (105+). Gonna build another just like it when I have time. Great "Sunday Flyer"

Some Wickedness for your HK-450 Heli - Wicked 4000Kv

Ordered the Wicked 4000Kv from Don a couple of weeks ago for an EDF model plane (as an upgrade), but plans changed since the motor I originally intended to use for my HK-450 (a T-Rex clone) was way too weak (it was an E-flite BL400 3500Kv brushless outrunner). Since 4000Kv was still in range for this 450-sized heli, I decided to swap out the E-flite for the Wicked 4000Kv, which was a GREAT move.

This motor is perfect for a 450-sized heli, has LOTS of power and spins up the rotor beautifully on low timing and medium spool-up/motor start rates. Very impressed by the performance of this motor in my heli, and would recommend this motor for anyone looking to beef up their 450 for 3D performance.

Here are the specs for my particular HK-450 heli...

Motor: Wicked 4000Kv w/11T pinion
ESC: Castle Creations Phoenix 35-Amp
Servos: HXT-900 for CCPM 120, Futaba S3114 for tail servo
Gyro: G401B
Battery: LiPo 3S 2200mAh 25C/50C

YouTube video...

Some photos of the HK-450 with the Wicked 4000Kv motor and a fe

Thought i would show some apreciation to Don.

One of my Wicked powered EDF's. Art Tech Su-27 with modified intakes and full flying elevators. Wicked 4800 motors with CC Phoenix 35 ESC's running on a pair of 2200 3s lipos at 650~700 watts. Straight line speed is nothing special due to the slightly draggy airframe but climbing power is awesome.

Also have a Kyosho F-4 running a Wicked Extreme 5400 on 3s, upgradeing to 4s shortly.

Most are Wicked 4800 on good 4S, a few are Wicked 5400 on 3S, using Pentium 60 and 40 esc's. MPH range 85-135. Watts 400-900. I love the 4800 on 4s using the Wattage 3 blade power fan(Gaui Delta).

I have many flights on the stock Phase3 EF-16...and I love it. The one powered by Don's Coolwind 4000kv, a 3 blade Eflite SF fan and a 4s pack is in a completely different league though. Its extremely fast (~100mph) has brutal vertical (unlimited or damned near)...yet still light enough to enjoy! The perfect setup for this plane, IMO.
