Really? I just got my AMA card... if you can call it that. My Safeway club card is better than this. So I have to go laminate this myself because I'd like it to last more than a couple weeks. It really was too hard and expensive to make a plastic card? Fricken sweet deal.

I hear you. Even the phony-baloney offer cards I get in the mail are of better quality but it matters little. I have often thought AMA should send a few of those inexpensive cards with the yearly membership renewal.

And if the AMA spent more on the cards... someone would be complaining about the money spent.

Pull out your card and look at it. Nobody would complain.

I hope this is not a reflection of the AMA in general.

A few years back you would receive a plastic card if you renewed for two years. I still have mine somewhere in my shop. The card was supplied with a pocket clip like the ones on most ID badges.

Anyone ever gotten one of these emails:

A new FAA NOTAM/TFR has been issued for the greater Newark, NJ area for Sunday, 11/1, at 2:30p until 4:50p EDT. The TFR is issued for security purposes to cover VIP movement in this area. Model aircraft operations are prohibited in this area during the specific times of the TFR. Please note that TFRs are subject to change with very short notice. Check back often for the most current NOTAM/TFR information.
