This is where the experts for that heli hang out. 5) Ask your question in a new thread. This is your last resort. First ask...will your question get enough attention in its own thread? An existing thread is usually better. Have fun!

About this thread...
This post is a "living reference". If you have any suggestions, corrections, links to manuals for new helis, etc., please reply to this thread. I will keep editing the first post to keep it up-to-date.
If you don't have anything to add...you can stop reading now. The posts below are just to discuss what goes in the post above. Thanks, and happy flying! -Jeff Last edited by spinup; Mar 13, 2009 at 02:45 PM. |

if you haven't done it, "Report This Post to a Moderator" the first post and select the "make sticky" option and leave a comment why this should be a sticky, maybe if enough of us do it they will stick it

Stick it!
I doubt it will get stickied. What the heck happened to our old stickies? They just vanished with no explanation whatsoever. Us micro heli pilots get no respect these days!

Wow, that was quick! Thanks guys. And thanks to the mods for making it a sticky. I'll do my best to keep the first post up-to-date...with everyone's help.
![]() Slyster, I totally agree that a "what is a good beginner helicopter" post should be stickied or linked from this sticky. I've not yet seen a great post for this though...I think we need to write it. IMO the ideal path is coax indoors --> FP in the yard --> CP at the field. But whether someone does all these steps depends on their unique budget, learning curve, time commitment to the hobby, and where/when they can fly. Maybe the best we can do is explain the characteristics of the three different heli types, pose a few questions, and let beginners make their own decision? -Jeff |
