Phase 3 F-16 EDF conversion to a pusher

Has anyone converted a Phase 3 F-16 EDF to a pusher?

I am ready to slap a Grayson Hobbies 2212-06 outrunner on and give it a try

I will keep you posted.

Just got in from it's maiden flight as a pusher .......AWESOME

Lots of power with the Grayson motor.

AUW 19oz. with a TP2100. I had to add 1.2oz of nose weight to get the CG right.

Out for my 2nd flight

Looks good. I was thinking of doing the same thing. What did you use to support the stick in the rear of the fuse?

While I understand you might get a faster model with a Grayson 2212 on the back than the stock EDF, I understood the EDF that came with this model flew it pretty well? I just wondered why you ditched the EDF?

Make it VT like in the Funjet thread. That'd be awesome. An F-16 chasing its tail in the air like a dog would do.

On my maiden toss it bellied onto a course, sand baseball diamond which totally "sand blasted" the EDF unit beyond repair.

I must say I like the instant "get out of trouble" thrust of a pusher compared to the EDF setup.

You got any video of your pusher set-up? Grayson's 2212-06 is a great motor! I love it!

Sorry to hear that happened on your maiden-I understand EDF's can take some time to get on step(something you can have precious little of when launching and the ground is coming up to meet your model!!). I understand the attraction of pusher now. I should guess that to sell this model at a competative price the stock system, like many RTF's , whether EDF or not, provides the bare minimum power for flight? Probably fine in perfect conditions, but as you found, any extra power if needed to get you out of trouble and it just isn't there? This is no criticism of the Phase 3 F-16 as it seems to be a remarkable model and one of the better perfoming ARTF EDF models out there for the price?

I agree. The Phase 3 F-16 is a super plane EDF or Pusher!
