Good work Jase,

I've been exercising every ounce of willpower I have to resist buying this one.

Is it me or does this model have the (same) slanted fin that the Discus had? (especially evident in your last photos).

I like the plastic bits - from the photos they look very nicely done.

Q - how do the tips compare in plastic as opposed to the ill fitting glass ones in the previous kits?

Can you imagine the riducule we are gunna be subjected to with these baby models at a VARMS aerotow? Bring it on!

They look the same but when you have them both side to side they are different, not just the fins but also the hole fuze.

With regards to the "tips" I don't know as my Discus has wood tips. But the Ventus tips look very nice.

Hey Jase, when we opened the box and pulled out the Ventus fuzz, I could have sworn it was shorter than the Discus. Must've been an optical illusion. I must admit, it looks bloody great and the quality is definately an improvement over the Discus. If you keep getting these new models I can see my wrecks taking longer to get repaired and back in the air. I might have to start getting a few newies too!!

The Ventus will need 7 srevo'sfor Aerotowing,

2 x Ailerons
1 x Elevator
1 x Rudder
1 x Tow release
1 x Retract
1 x Spoilers

I'm running Craptech HS-56HB's.

Well started work on the Ventus wings today. Haven't done a great deal of work on it as I had other thing that needed doing for the family first but I pan on doing alittle more tonight.

Next up was the spoilers. The manual calls for the covering to be cut back and sealed over into the cavity before glueing in the spoilers with epoxy. I didn't do that , I really don't like seeing the red of the airbrake while they are closed so I cut the covering back, slide the spoiler into the cavity and CA'ed it in. Then I sealed the covering back over the spoiler housing. The top of the spoiler was then sealed with Profilm to match the top of the wing. Dosen't look to bad, just need to work out some of the air bubbles.

Yes mate 56's all round but at only 1.2kg's i'm not to shore how about the retract, might be abit light....

She could take standards but I recon you'd be pushing it, Better off sticking with Mini's I think.
