A while back someone was selling 1.2 ghz video combo for $60
How did those units turn out?

I'm not sure the exact one you were refering to, but if it is a typical HK unit, it does tx video, but low res with a cmos image sensor. Besided that, they are not approved by the FCC, and must operate between 1240mhz and 1300mhz and you must be a licensed ham to opperate leagaly on those frequencies. Of the ones I know that have been tested, the frequency actually comes out between 1000mhz-1200mhz. If you plan to use this in the USA, illegal
