ParkFlyer Wall Hangers--How to Make Your Own!
Made some wall hangers for my planes. Thought I would share them with the forum in case others would like to make them. Here are the steps:
1.) Cut a 5"x1-3/8" block from a piece of good grade 1"x4"
2.) Take some 1/2" dowels and cut two 6-1/2" sections
3.) Drill 1/2" wide holes in block about 1/2" deep, 3-1/2" apart on center
4.) Set dowels in block with glue
5.) Paint the block and end of dowels with color of choice
6.) Get some 1/2" foam pipe insulation (Wal-Mart, $3)
7.) Cut foam in two 6" pieces
8.) Remove some the the foam (approx 25mm) lengthwise from the tube so that it will fit tightly on the dowels (test fit a couple of times)
9.) Put the foam on the dowel, remove the self stick tape backing, and seal tightly together around the dowel
10.) Drill a small home in the top center of the block for a screw
11.) Screw to wall (if sheetrock, use an anchor)
12.) Hang planes on them!
Very cheap and easy to do. Just a copy of a design sold by a brand name plane accessory maker. Cheap, sturdy, protects the plane, and looks good. The hanger just about disappears once the plane is on them. Attached some pix to help.
If you are interested in building some, and have questions, feel free to ask!

Very good idea David!
Heres an idea of you have more cealing space that wall space. It's also very simple, just put some eye hooks in the cealing , and put coat hagers in them! use some foam padding if you want, here some pics of mine.

I see that yours would work but the only way i see that DavidJ's would work is if the plane was mounted not hanging but possitioned sticking out from the wall horizontally.....is that what you meant?

yeah, that would work. So just some string attached to a hook screwed into the ceiling? I think ill do that, but with fishing line (make it look like it just hovering there).

Mine hang in the basement from hangers stolen from the wife.
I have steel beams that run back and forth and cross each other so I have lots of area to hang. Just got my 25 x 17 foot gameroom framed in so I am losing lots of space to hang planes up.
