I was at work this morning watching the nearby trees and thinking I might go for a fly when I got home. Not nly did I finish too late to go anywhere but the weather turned very bad and it hasn't stopped raining.
Cant fly, cant build coz I'm waiting on parts! Not happy. |

yeh, what was with that - no wind and not a cloud in the sky. Come knock off and its dark and hissing down!!?? Go Adelaide!
So, I was in the middle of some ESC repairs this evening when my super neat pencil soldering iron ran out of juice... gotta wait all night to recharge... I received the wrong part for my foamie Hawk today so that goes back in the corner again till I can source the correct part. A bit of good news though. A HL Phase3 F16 power unit arrived today that a stateside friend sent to me for my Ultrafly Hawk conversion to DF. Also, I started building my V3 Micro Hawk at long last! ![]() I guess the weather is actually working for me instead of against me at the moment!

I will be fitting a 55mm setup (the HL F16 8XL power unit) into the model. Plenty of room in there for it and not hard to to do. This way I will have a DF Hawk for the local oval and my bigger one for club sized areas
![]() I'll post a heads up when I start the build. |

Zoot/rcoz' - I swapped over the obvious burnt chips for good ones on my ESC repair but there was a problem with that. The others for that phase were also bad but just didnt show signs of it. So when I fired up my ESC - the 2 good ones carried all the current and caught on fire!
![]() Blowing it out wasnt working either. LOL It had a taste for heat and wasn't letting go for anyone. I pulled the lipo and quelled the fire but now the workshop has black snowflakes foating all around and stinks of the good old brown smoke. ![]() It was worth a try though.
