Hi Gizzo, as you drive up Sellicks Hill on the Main South rd there's a pub on the bend. Turn left and drive past the pub along a dirt road that winds up through the valley to a T junction and there you are. If there's a SE I'd much prefer to continue on to Tapanappa though.
Great weather today, I was at Holdfast with some mates and flew my 6Kg 1/4 scale Piper Cub running on 10S 3700, 1.2KW full throttle. It doesn't do much, just looks good in the air. Also flew my 900mm span 3D EPP SuperYak which is pretty insane to fly and on a nice calm day like this, knife edges skimming the ground are fun. I've been working on a Nightfly and I'm pretty happy with it, just flew it in the park. It has 2 glow wire drivers for 4 light strings and 10 UV LEDs all driven from a uBEC modded to provide 8V. Painted in fluorescent yellow the UV LEDs really kick it off and it looks sort of eerie. I figured out today how to use a small brushed ESC to turn the LEDs on and off while in flight and just test flew it and the switch works well, cheers, Andy |

Pc9
Canterbury Sailplanes PC9?? I love mine. I just recently put a rudder on it and like it even better. An alternative to packing tape for EPP is to use spray adhesive from Supercheap Auto on the EPP then cover with low temp film. I like Solartex because it has a weave to it making it really tough (but a little heavier) and if you go for white you can then paint it with auto acrylics. My PC9 now has a USB socket on top of the fuselage!!! I've got one of the little video pen cams and plug it in to the PC9 and go fly. I tried to load a video but can't do it.

Wow Gadgetman, yours looks a lot nicer than mine. Its more of a PC9 shaped beanbag.
Ill just cover it in strapping tape again and probably colour it with contact or something (worked well on the last plane i made). The Spray/film method worked well for my weasel, I used solarfilm to keep it light. I tried taping an Oregon Scientific ATC2K cam to the top of the pc9 but it didn't fly too well. |
