As we here in the northen states winter is on the way and its going to be cold flyin soon,i was looking for some skis for the apprentice and found these anyone have any experience with these and any comments on how they would work on the apprentice,gonna do a new paint scheme for the winter.maybe swiss give it that alps look

Man, I was thinking about those exact same skis but was wondering if they are big enough. It looks like HH has a bigger size also. Let me know if you try them and if they fit well and seem to be the appropriate size.

Yea i think skis would be great on this, the way if floats in on landing would look so cool with the skis.i am hopeing someone will reply first who had used these before i order them.i am curious to about the size of these for the apprentice

Hey alex i forgot to mention this earlier,if you have no flight experience you should try a flight sim on the pc.i use realflight its worth the investment saves on crashed planes,but if your not up to spending that much do a search for FMS not as good as realflight but it will give you the idea.

Also i am not a fan of reglueing that motor mount. i guess if you cannot get a new one you have to.that would be major problems if that comes apart in flight LOL.make sure that glue can take the stress or wait for a new one

Ron I will definatlly check the caps ad will give the spar a wiggle test to ake sure everything os good. I anxiously am waitig for fed-ex to get here with the new bird so I can have some fun again.

Plane arrived 20 minutes ago. I may get to take it out tomorrow for a few laps if the wind is down to a managable speed.

Hey capmike hope everything went well on your maiden flight with your new bird,let me know how you made out,no more wing clapping i hope,I had mine out today and she flies like a dream.gave her a new paint for the winter,also waiting on some ski i bought off ebay for 4 buck there the same as the ones from the previous post from horizon,

Ron Unfortunatly was not able to fly today . I spent from 6am until 4pm getting my boat off the beach and running so I can work tomorrow. She still isn't running . Winds were supposed to be sw 10k but started blasting 25 this afternoon. There is always another day for this though

I just received my new Apprentice and setting up the DX5e. When the power is connected I get a continious tone from the receiver. Is this normal??

nope seeing as how the reciever doesnt even have a speaker.

maybe its your esc? Your esc could be telling you that your battery is to low. Or that you pluged in your reciever wrong. Or that your transmitter is not bound to the reciever. Or that its broken.

When you turn on your transmitter do surfaces move?

Sorry, I meant the receiver. Yes all surfaces do move as they should. I have noticed by adjusting the trim on the elevator it can be made to stop the tone. But as you control any of the surfaces it will restart. Not Extremly loud, the motor at an idle and you will not hear it.

Have not flown it as just not too sure on this one.

You sure the note is note coming from the servo? Are they digital servos in that bird?
