Ron and all. The news came today. I called E-Flight/ Horizon Hobbies to check the status of the plane. They could not determin the cause other than as stated the tube spar broke in flight. They have a new plane on the way to me and I should be recieving it soon. Now thats customer service.

Good news on a new replacement for you MikeCap....but bad news for the Apprentice!

Without an understanding of this failure, it leaves open the possibility it could happen to the rest of us.

I hope they look at their manufacturing or vendor processes and inspections. This is a high-consequence failure mode.

I was very certain that a new box containing a new RTF would show up at your door step from Horizon Hobby but, the nagging question still burns.....

WHY DID THAT WING SPAR FAIL?

Weak rubber bands?

Misalignment of wing to FUSE?

Or, just the manner in which the SPAR was made?

WHAT?

It was definitely NOT #1 or #2.

There was a flaw in the spar before takeoff due to either damage or a manufacturing flaw.

Hey capmike glad to hear you plane is coming and great customer service from horizon, they are gonna put a big ol smile on your face when the fedx man shows up.but as in the other post i wish there was a definitive answer on why that spar broke.i looked at mine and seems solid no visible defects, could it be that you just got the one bad spar in a million?maybe you should play the lottery if your that lucky. LOL but good for you and horizon for taking care of it.

Make sure you check those end caps on this new one,a little ca saves a lot of headache
