The AR600 is same price as the 500 and it has 6 channels. So far mine is holding up well.

Hi,

I recently released a new machined aluminum motor mount for the Apprentice 15e that will allow you to simply bolt on any of the 3548 series motors with the bolt on propeller shaft.

I am also including a propeller bushing which will allow the use of the stock propeller on the bolt on propeller shaft.

The mount can accommodate motor bolt patterns with 19x19mm and 19x25mm.

For the proper propeller to cowl spacing you need to run the 48mm length motors. But any of the KV ones will work.

Yes, the Turnigy 3548 motors will work great as well as any of the other popular ones such as from Heads up RC, or Exceed in the 3548 series.

Photoshop? No, thats the actual picture (if that's what you meant). Just showing some of the different propeller options that could work. But now that you mention it, it does kinda look like the two right side blades were added in. Beyond my photoshop skills!

Hi mattysa,

I am selling them directly on my website. I'll send you a PM with the info.

The weight of the mount is 7g and the Turnigy 3548 900KV motor is 163g.

To be honest I didn't weigh the stock motor. If someone has this weight that would be great. If anything it may be a bit lighter up front since these after market motors tend to be a bit lighter than the stock ones.

So adding a bit of weight may be necessary, or if possible moving some of the electronics forward such as the battery (much better option) would bring the COG back to stock.

Sotog - just FYI, the CoG in the Apprentice is VERY forgiving; I've had several different motors on my Apprentice after the stock motor: the Eflite Power 15, the Hacker A30-12L, and the Hacker A30-10XL, some with additional mounting spacers, others without. Never had a CoG problem with my Apprentice with batteries ranging from 2250mAh 3s 30C to 3900mAh 4s 20C. Your machined Turnigy adapter should be fine. Looks good, too!

Good choice, Chaos. Which one did you get, the ARF or the ePTS RTF? I think you mentioned you were looking at the Eflite ePTS RTF because you were talking about the Spektrum Dx6i radio that comes with it. If you did get the ePTS RTF, just do a servo check to make sure each one is working smoothly and without jitter or extra noise; mine were all sketchy when I got my ePTS RTF. Also, if/when you decide to remove the NACA wing droops, a little isopropyl alcohol will remove the tape residue quick and easy. Oh, and a 4s LiPo will give you LOTS of power, 3s gives you more or less "scale" performance. Have fun!

Thanks! Ya, I figured it was not very critical on a plane this size. I know people use them for FPV and stick cameras on them.

I have really never had any issues with COG on any planes that use my mounts. The mount and after market motors are usually close enough so no weight needs to be added.
