Nice flying Mike. Sorry I missed you out there today. I didn't end up flying until later in the afternoon. Sorry to hear that you went down a few times. What happened?

I had a funny thing happen to me today. I flew my little wing about 3 miles out and started noticing that I was having a hard time controlling it. I slowly turned back and went up 1000ft just in case, thinking maybe I could glide it back (or closer anyway) if I continued to lose control. Video was fine but the flight controls were acting really strange.

Anyway, I finally got it back on the ground after about 15 minutes of sketchy flying and found out that one of the two screws holding the motor to the mount was missing...how about that, the motor was completely loose. I'm surprised that I got it back. I know for sure I thread-locked them.

All in all, a beautiful day! Wow. I dragged my daughters along to spot for me and we had a good time.

K, David & DemonMike, and anybody else that's interested, I think it's time we start doing monthly FPV sorties as a group. Pick some interesting location and just go. Winter is great for flying FPV because things calm down, family summer activities are over, the air is a lot calmer, and except people take several days off work for the next few holidays.

If any of you guys are game, let's pick a spot and a day and plan something!

Are you guys seeing the weather this week? Calm all week in Provo.

2-3 mph winds MAX. That's ideal!

I'm getting excited for the FPV season.

Yep, it looks like we're getting a "bonus" week after the last one. I don't fly much during the winter but I'm planning to this year. Looking forward to meeting up.

The first time I went down I was pushing my luck in a canyon and hit a tree.

The second time I was going straight up a hill and when I turned I guess it stalled out on me so I just landed it.

I'll include the crashes in the video at the end lol.

Heres my FPV flight from yesterday over the Wasatch mountains. This one has plenty of crashes for your viewing pleasure.
