That's kool Katie, looks better than stock! Flew my Radian P first time on Saturday and Sean was right, I have to begrudgingly give it credit where due as a thermaling bird, pretty good for a heavy foamy, your Radian will be lighter again too so should be better in lighter air. The flaps work really well, almost zilch stall, and the CG can go much further back than the 70mm recommended.
But it has pretentions that it's airfoil was never designed to absorb in terms of speed, these things can go too fast quite easily with the given brushless and get way out of shape, really bad wing flex. In fact, I would go as far to say that I get more fun out of the humble Easyglider, just my 2c worth but. Look at me, it's disgraceful, isn't it.. I start a thread on building wooden sailplanes years ago and here I am prattling about throw-away ARF foam gliders, that have motors!!!! See what I have been reduced to? credibility is all slipping away.. ![]() ![]() Forgive me, Ray, and Jeff.

Now Now Steve: let's put things into proper perspective here: the foamies are doin' excatly what they are supposed to do- learnin' old dogs like me how to drive the 'other sticks'- heckens, mine's been stuck in the trees 3 x now- all cuzz of the wrong switch bein' flipped- I sure didn't want to do that to 1.5 years of work!

That thing looks great Katie!
Yeah Steve, Hoss called me up raving about his Radian and I kinda thought "OK, he's finally snapped. FedEx pressure got to him". However, he, Keith (Crazy Brit) and I met at a school soocer field one Saturday and flew the pants off a Radian and Radian Pro. Too much fun. Yep, I hate to admit it but the things fly great. Why I haven't bought one yet I don't know. |
