I sure have it sweet in apartment life!
Katie:, about 1/3 of our club population is Aero Tow, what is happening is a nose coupling, set up with an open (gear- on/off) channel, an the fellas maintain the high/low tow position,(about 5 degrees above/below the tow bird), and according (i think) to the pattern boss, Thermal bird goes this way @ release, and tow the other way

In FS (and whenever everybody does what they're supposed to do) the sailplane turns right and the tug left.

Hey guys, sorry to crash this thread. Sean, I don't know if you got my message, but Stan died on Firday. There will probably be an ASK18 kit coming up for sale in the near future.

I'm quickly learning this. Its a hard habit to break if you're coming from the powered side of the house.

If any of you are flying full house sailplanes, I have an interesting survey running in the Sailplane Talk forum. I am asking what brand of radio and what RF you are using to fly your full house sailplane.

If you wish to participate, visit the link.

It may not be a glider... It's not even gonna be flying... But it's a woodie! I have the bottom wing assembled on my Guillows PT-17. Woo hoo! Some final gluing and sanding, and I'll get going on the top wing. Empennage is already done-- just the fuse and accessories after the wings.

Onya Lil those kits are a charm to build, pics please!

Pic of my old Guillows Zero, converted to RC, interesting in the air!

Voted Ed.

Folks, Keith mentioned that Stan Meyers passed away Friday. We lost another awesome glider guider and a true gentleman.

Katie, if it's got wings it's worth the build. I must confess that I have a stack of old FF scale power kits waiting in the background. I do want to see the PT-17 when done.

Steve-O: Sweet Zero. When you said it has interesting flight characteristics I was reminded of my foamy Zero. With the thick fuselage and low wing configuration mine would fly better inverted. Much more stable in roll.

atmosteve,

I built that same model in my youth. Only to hang up. I tried throwing it free flight with the rubberband wound propeller - Ha! Way too light.
