Almost got the lipo in the Tx, bought a $12 25W solder iron today. Then it's seeing if I can coax some life into my old NiMH AA/AAA Rx packs with the new charger. That is family friendly enough?

Anything without a prop in front of it is wholesome, and family friendly..

( I also guess it's becoming clear that I need to go out and get a job..)

Noooo! Don't do it, Steve! Jobs are so... so.. time consuming! They invariably want you to spend 30 or 40 hours a week doing something besides buiding sailplanes or talking about sailplanes...or talking with your sailplaning friends about other things.. Trust me.. It REALLY cuts into your leisure time!

30 or 40 hours? Meh... try 50 and you're getting close. At least, I wish I had 50! Its all cash in the bank.

Meantime progress on the flying wing is going ok - I've got all the ribs cut out and one half of the wing assembled. The other half will be mated to it via a ribface and epoxy join, given strength by 0.8mm balsa covering the bays either side of centre.

Hi DW

I was just watching the Eagles for a bit, looks like they are putting in a fresh new layer of very small twiggs to set on and to keep the eggs from moving around.

They are so regal looking with the black body and white head and that cool curved beak, they have a don't screw with me as i'am bad freaken news look.

Mother Nature did good when she put that package together, and and plus for us to look at too. And soon we get to see some baby chicks too.

A post on the sidebar said the first egg has been laid. They're sleeping right now so I guess we'll have to impatiently wait until daybreak. Dang it.

I missed it by just half an hour! I was out back, dividing some man-eating plants for a trade while it was still light out. Poor lady is all tuckered out.

Well, Owl, apparently you FF guys are an extremely hardy lot! There's a big FF meet at the field next door to my house this weekend. I drove by about noon yesterday and and saw at least three motor homes and tents up. Yesterday's weather was severe, with tornado warnings popping off ever 15 minutes, thunderstorms all day and flood warnings. This morning I go by and they're out there again. Sustained winds 20++ with gusts over 30. AND THOSE GUYS ARE FLYING!!!!

Seriously! That field is 1 square mile. They were launching at the extreme West fence and the ones I did see recovered were at the East edge. Must be setting their timers for one second.

One of my first freeflight launches ever, a P-30 class rubber sport, with a couple hundred winds for a "test flight" was found two days later in a field about 2-1/2 miles north of where were were flying. Yeah... And people wonder why I think RC gliders may have some attraction! lol
