I got an email from Ray today... he was spot on. I had the top part flipped. I cut the top section off and glued it back in. I couldn't believe it... but, when I traced the piece, the apex lined up perfectly. Thanks again Ray... you're the best.

Thanks Ray, that's a great shot to have the sun filtered enough to show the plane too. I gotta get me a good camera some day. Don't know if know but I finally finished my Oly III, she's on page 504.

Hey DW

Just for grins i checked out the Eagle Cam and it is still on, some paper torn up in the nest and leaves in the tree.

Looks like they leave the cam on 24-7 and wait for the pair to come back and do the baby chicks deal again, might not be too long now as its getting on the cool side will have to take a peek now & then.

No kidding, I haven't looked. I know the nests are use over....that would be cool. I wished we could see what the last hatch is up to. I wonder if they're getting their white head feathers? pretty cool cycle....

Hey Mr. G,

Makin tow hooks with U bends like you suggested...great idea. Will have 3 with different dimensions so I can just swap them out. I went to Lowe's and bought some allthread and that crap just breaks when I try to bend it. I found some screws though that are hard as hell to bend but can be shaped perfectly. I did one last night and got it just right and fired it, I think this will work well.

Cheers,

Don

My latest woodie:
Dynaflite Skeeter only took 18 years, waiting on rx battery, push rods and ball links from Tower. (and it's yellow and red, not the weird orange color in the picture) Covered with Ultracote.

That looks very clean, John, nice cover job! Is the fuse filmed or painted?

Don't let Hoss (Hossfly72 on here) know where you live johnfh! He loves those Skeeters, has a few and thinks he should have every one in exsistence.

Looks awesome and they do fly very well!

Okay... John, I'm going to piggyback onto your post to ask a stupid question. I'm asking partly because a couple of years ago, I picked up a partially (badly) put together Gentle Lady, and the same question came up. With the fuse all closed in and covered..

How do you install pushrods in an enclosed fuselage after it's completely built? Now, you may mean just push rod ENDS, i.e., threaded rod to attach clevises/ball links to. But this GL had the pushrods (those 1/4-inch dowels) just stuck in the box, with threaded rods attached to them, but no way (I could figure out) to get them INTO the completed fuselage.

Did I miss something basic along the way here?

By the way, nice lookin' little Skeeter, John!
