Don
Okay, Dude! Four years from conception to birth, but who in hell cares after this kind of outing.....and no afterbirth!!!

I see that Olyman said we got some moisture up here.....of course I missed it
since I was in your area and watching all the wildfires. Only upper was getting to play with the great grandson and the family. Hotter than beejabbers til this morning, and glad to be back up here in God's country.
Give David that call and have one heck of a good time.

Don,

Really nice looking Oly III, hand launch then go winch or high-start. Just about lost mine today, ~2k and I lost sight of-er. coming down at 55mph, according to my altimeter. Strong plane, held together, and I was able to reorient before it hit ground. I need to spin her down when this happens, but I'm over confident and think that if I just stay cool I will catch sight of her again ....

Excellent wing tip modifications!, let us know how she flies!

Spinning will also help you catch sight of it sooner. Glad this one ended well.

Glad you are back and OK. These fires are unreal. Did receive about a quarter to 3/tenths of moisture and very glad to receive it. Have not heard from Mr. Jack lately.

Don, your bird is beautiful! Let's see her flying!

I specked my GL today! First time!! All I could see was a tiny purple dash, with a green tip and an orange tip. The flight was exactly fifteen minutes long, per iPhone clock. It was a good day. I found a nice, shiny wind-up stopwatch, we'll use that next time. *contented sigh* Oh! I even flew inverted for a few seconds. Yes, deliberately. :P I was high enough on a shorter flight to permit aerobatics. I started a loop, saw I wasn't quite fast enough to finish it, and stayed inverted for the fun of itt. Oh, I laughed, and laughed.... Then a wingtip fell out, and I let it roll back to vertical. (How could I stop it, no ailerons! ) Oh, man, I'm hooked sooo bad now.....

Joe, what altimeter gizmo do you use?

Wow. Just plain Wow. Really beautiful bird you have there Don. You need to send those pics to AMA. They're a shoe in to get published. May even get a few more people interested in woodies in the process! I can't wait to see that thing fly!

Yeah, so far so good TJ. There is some strange things going on in the Gulf and we may very well end up with more rough weather coming in but probably at worst not before the middle of next week. Looks like Saturday will be sunny, light winds and temps in the mid-80s. I like that last part best.

Nice looking airplane...I think you have that covering thing down to an art.
