Thanks for that GD. I have saved it to my Favorites for future use, if needed.

Hi Steve,
I just came accross the view of the plans sheet for the 'Journey' sailplane.

Is this your design?

Plans available?

Hey Chuck, it sure is!!

We,,...as much as i'd like to claim a glider like the Journey as mine, I will have to come clean and tell you it belongs to a fellow from New Mexico named Jack Womack. Jack sometimes visits the RCG boards as Shrederman and with a bit of arm twisting he even helps us out with our RC soaring questions sometimes. He can be a quiet fellow so I wish you well in getting in contact with him.

Owl, they are also about half way down the first post of the first page on this thread, along with a whole bunch of photos from the guys.

Still got no internet at home.. telstra lost my order for a wireless system after I ordered it last Monday, seven days ago. It's been a total debarcle ever since I moved house two weeks ago, I can't get over the inneficiencies of this company. You guys in the States, please consider yourselves lucky you don't have them over there.

I'm not to surprised to hear that, Gerald. In fact it adds to my dismay.

But really, just how hard can it be? I wasn't asking them to patch me into the space station or something, I only moved 40km from my old place!

Anyone doing any building? Thats gotta be a better topic to talk about.

I'm gettin' ready to. Will it be on topic to ask about a real woody building question?

I want to make an Oly II with a 3-piece wing, 1-piece center section and removable tips, and I'm wondering if a "Bubble Dancer-type" spar work on an Oly II? What I'm thinking about doing is making up some "balsa ply" for solid shear webs for the entire 1/4 inch spruce spar in the center 4 bays, and capping the underside of both top and bottom spars with laminations of pre-preg CF. I've got some 0.007" CF that I can strip to 1/4 inch to do this with. Like with the Bubble Dancer, make it thicker at the center by laminating. I'm wondering if this will be as strong as using a steel joiner rod. It just doesn't make sense to me to build it with a center joiner rod and then glue the two center pieces together. (I'm thinking of doing some other wing bashing for it, too.)

Thots, anybody?

Hi Guys!

I've really missed the building and the BS on the old woodie thread, hope you all are doing well. The job is making me feel very old these days. Yup, connectivity seems to be a pain in the ass no matter where you are on the planet, Stevo. My house was built prewired with Cat5e and coax in every room. I switched from satellite to cable a few months ago and the technician was inside my house a full Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, I asked the "lady", what the f are you doing that you've destroyed my weekend over? "Oh...well...we have to check all outlets in the house for any wiring issues". I told her "you got 30 more minutes of my weekend to get it up and going and have your f'ing coffee cup and the rest of your crap out of my home...she was gone in 15. Clock ridin hose monster . Just hang in there Steve, they get you up soon....NOT!!!

Building, yes, still going on me Oly. I'll be joining panels tonight and get it sheeted by this weekend. Seems not too far off now. I did cut some new tips that are more backward swept than the orig profile. Kinda like JW's Journey tips. I'll post some pics tonight just for S&G's I guess.

Cheers fellas,

Don
