The car would not push or spin out. It would just slowly start traveling the direction I was facing. Very good balance on that car. However after 4 years it met a untimely demize. On a expresway in Milwaukee (Zoo interchange) a person 2 cars in front of me decided to stop and back up. I stopped but the car behind me (Chevy suburban) desided to park on my trunk. The doors were partially jammed. But I was still able to drive it home. The motor siezed 1 week later. Apparently the accendent caused a oil leak, and the dummy light was failing.

I truely understand your viewpoint of used, cash cars until the die. Sometimes you never know how long one of the vehicles is going to last. Won't you kick yourself in the but if the door falls of in 3-4 years and the motor is still running.
Currently my oldest car is a Jeep Grand Cherokee. 1998

That engine would be good for a generator, so the scroll saw could be used when the electrical grid is down!

I hear you on that. I am building a house, Ok someone else is doing most of the work for me. I really wanted to have a bypass so that I could run a Generator for Refrig and stuff when power is down for extended time. However I was told I was not allowed to do that unless I put in generators that were designed for this application. I.E. no manual flipping of the bypass circuit. Instead they are saying you just need to run extention cords to each item I want to use

I was told the Generator would be like 15K. I only wanted enough power for 2 refriges, a fan and a few lights 80 watts apiece. Darn regs.

That is a nice looking oly there. You should be in the picture to give us a little size reference.

Yeah... It seems the older I get the shorter the years get as well. This will be my last move as well and that's the reason I've been doing all the research into different areas. I want to make sure I get the right place. 5-10 acres that are flat and not too close to an airport so I can walk out the door of the house or shop and launch with no problems. I want a place that's as green as possible (solar, PV electricity, well(s) etc) and off the grid except for web access. I've been finding lots of nice places to the north east of Dallas and in south east Arizona. Now if I can get my business setup and going as soon as I get out there I could write a lot of the expense off on taxes. Planting a runway is expensive but it will be needed for testing of products. Quality control ya know!!!

BTW... When I do kick the bucket..... just load my ashes into a Merlyn and fly it into the ocean off Torrey Pines and I'd be happy. Between the soaring on the cliffs and the nude beach at the base, what more could you ask for?

Ray, has anyone built an OIIs with a V tail and reported back their flying experiences with what they had done?

Steve,

Haven't heard from anyone converting to a V-Tail.
