What an amazing website, the photo quality is absolutely superb.
The video's were interesting, especially the twin Culver Cadets, Sean will appreciate those. Thanks for the link TT, never seen it before.

Lord have mercy! That J3 brought a lump in my throat! Loved flying that old bird. The only one I ever flew that could fly backwards in a good headwind.

Shades of wonders! The telepathy worked! Including the side plating.

Stay with it Don

My Grandfather used to stand his T-craft on the nose to stop the prop windmilling and soar it, or if the wind was just right stand stationary above the bluffs around Raton, NM.
He worked during WWII at the Dalhart, TX airbases, one of which was glider pilot training.
Anyway, as a really young kid much time was spent soaring in that T-craft with the Red Tail Hawks.
Or just gadflying about the ridge rim rocks to the west.

The AAA updates their site just about weekly.... always something interesting.

I'm on it Mr. G. Got my bench tore down and my 1/2" glass wang table backlit and plans on, starting a panel today. The plans are still on the money and the back lighting works as planned .

Oh sure, Don. Of course it's "our" table. Just like it's "our" walk in closet and "our" bathroom.

Meet you all here someday

You all are invited to meet me and Les at the flying field in ( I mean in ) West Yellowstone, MT the next time my wife and I visit there. Les takes a daily break from his downtown bike rental shop, about three blocks away, to fly his epower sailplane. Great place to lay out a hi start or winch.

My Windfree is old and built by a buddy, I always carry tape, it fixes almost anything, even a hinge that busted out of the balsa rudder.

Ray,

What time of year do you usually go up there? That would be a hoot! I could be talked into bringing a fly rod, too!

I'll be flying one or the other of my woodies against all of those Ava flyers and other such criminals () at TNT! I'll be in Ft. Worth next weekend bearing gliders... I'll be flying with some of the Dallas bunch next Sunday, weather permitting...

Fear not Jack,

You can handle any of that store bought RES stuff with a woody.

We are in the great wild wild west the last week of August and first week of September. It would be a hoot to fly with you there. Two years ago Les and I flew with a vacationer from New Mexico. Les is retired from the Yellowstone Park Service, probably can walk you up to the biggest trout hole in the park. If I can find it, I'll post a pic I took two years ago while at West Yellowstone of a nice size trout . The town is loaded with fly shops. I put my fly rod down a couple of years ago, tied my own for midwest lake's bass and gills. Wife keeps telling me to pick it again.

I think the town of West Yellowstone is approx 7000 ft.

Vacation season for family's with school kids is over by the time we arrive

Ray... I'm planning on pulling up stakes from here in Georgia and moving up to Montana sometime this coming summer. Keep me posted and we can have a "Windfree-Fest" in Yellowstone. (If 2 Windfrees can be considered as a "Fest" LOL) I doubt that I'll have the Zogling finished up but I've still got a small fleet of other woodies to fly. Once I find a new place to buy and I've got a man-cave set up I'll be getting a hold of you so I can stock up on kits. Plenty of building season during the Montana winters to say the least.

In the imortal words of Frank Zappa.... I think I'l head up to Montana and raise me a herd of dental floss...

Sounds like fun to me. Look up Les at his shop on Madison st.

From Georgia to Montanna ... WOW. That calls for a new wardrobe.
