Thanks guys. All sarcastic comments enjoyed and appreciated. Keep em coming!

Actually the riveting is very fast, and I really enjoy the process. You kind of get into a zen like rhythm and before you know it an entire section is done...

I am trying to find my slightly bigger brass tubing I bought especially to make the screws that hold down the covers over the guns and ammo tray, but do you think I can find it? Hell no not on my messy work table. Driving me nuts!

Bottom of the wing has been painted in primer. I'll start on the bottom rivets... Not long now until it'll be done.

EDIT - have completed one wing on the underside...

Finished riveting the wing this morning! Yeehaa!

I have a houseguest coming in a few minutes, so will give it a light sand and then take some photos after they have left. Of course the weather has turned very nasty this weekend, meaning the likelihood of getting colour on it in the next day or two is very slim.

This weekend I have to pack up and completely remove all the contents of my workshop/sunroom. The building is undergoing repairs so I'll loose my work space for a minimum of a couple of weeks.

Anyhoo photos this afternoon...

Wing Riveting Complete!

Here are some shots. Now the weather is not cooperating for paint...

It may be a few weeks before I can get to the fuse now...

I think that's got to be some of the most realistic rivets I've seen on an RC model to date!

Thanks very much guys. I have tried to be as accurate as I can to the 3 views I have. I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out. Now to do it all over again with the fuse!

A Couple More Wing Shots - and Now it Goes Into Storage for a While

Just thought I'd throw in a couple more shots of wing parts. I painted all the fibreglass servo cover panels, and also made the ?bezel? for the wingtip navigation lights. The metal tape I had was not flexible enough to bend around such complex curves, so I masked up the area with electrical tape and sprayed some normal primer heavily in the area. This worked pretty well, and the effect is a very subtly raised panel which is fine with me. Since the photos I have put some screws along them both. Wing is really and truly ready for final paint now!

I spent the afternoon dismantling and packing up my workshop. Sad to know I'll be out of action for a few weeks on the build, but it was good to have a big cleanup as well (plus it'll give me time to actually go flying with a couple of my foamies and FPV planes, which can't be a bad thing!).

Actually, the leading edge of the wing has hardly any rivets at all according to my 3 views, and on the photos I have it is hard to see as well. Does anyone know if I have missed some? If so I'd be grateful if you could let me know before paint time...

Tops of Wings are Now Silver!!!

I Couldn't Resist
The thought struck me, that since this silver paint takes a very very long time to harden up, that I should paint one side of the wings as soon as possible, and then by the time my workshop is back in business, the paint will be hard enough to flip over to paint the other side.

So I took the wing outside for 5 minutes after work today and hit it with the rattle can.

Of course when it hardens up I have to rub it back to get the oxidised look like the tail surfaces. Overall it came up not too bad I think. OK that really is the last thing I can do until the workshop is back together is a few weeks.

The results....
