I am about to embark on a new project. This one is going to be a 1/2 scale Sig Kadet Seniorita done in Bluecor and powered by a GWS DC-A, 9x7, 7cell 370mah Nimh, with Pico flight pack. Target wieght is 7.5-8.0 oz. Wing span will be 36". Should turn out to be a really cool little airplane.

I plan on posting in here as the plane takes form.

So far I have drawn out the fuselage and wing placement on Bluecor sheet. I will begin cutting parts soon.

Sounds like a really fun project. Do you have the plans from the SIG kit and are adapting them?

I am building from an original Kadet Seniorita plan.

Here is the first piece.

I removed the top piece of the nose so that I can replace it with a laminated and sanded to shape decking like the original Kadet had. However, I may use former and a single piece of bent to shape Bluecor to make this curve.

Ooh that looks good. Pretty thin cutouts there for the windows - are you going to need to strengthen those somehow?

I have been working with Bluecor for a few weeks and am now working on a MIG-15 from a KittyHawk Software paper airplane plan.

Looks like a good start.I do have a suggestion though. It would cut down on your Build......BUT you would have to start the fuse over. If you have seen any of Hippo`s Planes over at www.foamfly.com he cuts out the fuse all in one Piece and then folds the sides up. What i mean is the Center Bottoom section is there as well which means NO glueing and a stronger airframe. Iif you go to the site and look at the X-Bow you will see what i mean. There are some construction Pics there that show the fuse lying Flat. Before being folded. JUST a thought.It may make your project a little easier.

Good Idea but the only piece that is exactly straight is the top rear portion of the fuse. The bottom is slightly curved all the way to the tail almost.

If I need, I will reinforce the pilars with thin ply or maybe some coroplast.

On the Bluecor wings that I have been building, I have been glueing separate wing tops to wing bottoms, using a taped leading edge, and this has worked out pretty well. I would imaging that taping the edges of a fuselage over the glued edges would work.

I've also tried the bending/folding route. Curves are certainly quite doable, but I don't know about 90 degree angles...

This will have a undercambered wing to enable slower flight. Like the ones on my Frogs.

I have done a little more on the fuselage. Still working some things out though. But it seems to be taking shape very well.

Here's a mock up to see what it is going to look like when finished. Looks pretty close to a Seniorita heh?

What's the latest on your Seniorita? You've probably got 50 flights on it by now!
