Deans are fine for 10 gauge (if you are careful when soldering), and are good for 100 amps...

Gonna try some 4s 4000's on this plane tomorrow. Probably way too heavy but nothing to lose I guess.

Hey let me know what you think! I thought about buying some 4000MaH to try to get a little longer flight times. Let me know what you think.

or deans.
I like 4mm bullet connectors, and have switched all my models over from Deans to bullets - much more reliable and easier to connect/disconnect.

Just my 2 awg. ;-)

The problem with almost all 4mm bullets is the way they are made. The only point at which there is good contact is on the raised up portion of the bullet (see photo), which does not really equate to much surface area, and surface area is where electricity is conducted. The only good 4mm bullets that I know of are made by Tekin and Castle Creations... (see second photo)

Will do. I was actually surprised that I didn't have to put these batteries much further back than my other ones. I'm guessing that it will fly just fine but not quite as floaty.

I was using 3300's in my Great Planes "Electrostick" with a Hacker A30-10XL in it, and it had a ton of power with a 13X6.5APC....Looking forward to trying the Motrolfly in my 51" Slick, which should be lighter. and will swing a larger prop!!

I fly mine with a 3300 5 cell gens and a 3000 5cell zippy. Pop tops are much better with the heavier battery. The 51 Slick is an awesome plane.

What kind of motor are you using?

I am running a Motoro Fly (I want to say 3215 but I am not 100 percent sure. Would that handle a 4 cell?

I'm thinking its the 3615 and it will handle a 4 cell just fine. Myself and many others are running 2500-2700 mA batteries.

I just picked up a new 51" AJ Slick (thanks Skywalker14!) that is bare frame. Any special places that should be reinforced before I start covering? I'm pretty tough on LG so was wondering if I should secure the LG joints with some epoxy, even though the plate is fiberglass. Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Just tested this plane out on 4s 4000's and it was fine. I still prefer the lighter 2500-2650 setup but this works in a pinch for sure!

It's awesome for high energy stuff but I really noticed the weight in my rolling harriers. It's not so heavy that it takes the fun out though. In fact if I'd never flown on the lighter setup I wouldn't even notice.

I did find out during this process that my 2650's are tired though. My 4000's had a TON more punch! Time to get some new ones.

Depends on the kv and prop. I run a 700kv Hacker with a 15x6 on 4S.
