Any ideas to keep the rear tip of my rudder nice for harrier landings? Mine is getting a little ripped up.

Do 'em on softer ground!

Steve - doing harrier landings is just like mentioned above, just get a nice smooth harrier lower and lower, ideally if you are on grass I like to just barely drag the rudder which then causes it to want to slam the main gear down, so give a nice goose on the throttle stick as soon as it does that and you can actually make a harrier landing just about as smooth as a regular one.

As Ryan stated. Nearly impossible if landing on hard surfaces. All the tips of my rudders are bare. But you only notice if you look for it.

My problem is that when I was learning how to fly many years ago, I was taught "Speed and altitude are your friend" it's really hard to break what was beaten in to my old noggin.....

Glue a strip of carbon fiber threads to it. The CF threads are available at most hobby shops. If not, check fleebay for "carbon fiber tow."

Steve I can relate with you on the learning many years ago. It is an experience that does not really help you with modern designs. Planes just did not do what they do today and you learned to get yourself out of certain conditions automatically. Today we want to be flying like that.

File or Dremel a groove on the bottom of your rudder half the diameter a piece of wire maybe 1/16" dia and bend it to the contour of your rudder and bend 1/4" 90 bends on each end. Drill in the rudder for these bends and CA or epoxy it to your rudder tip. It will be a skid strip and protect your rudder.

I have a solution, just do not drag your rudder on the ground if you do not want to rip it up.

Good idea but personally - I think a slightly beat up rudder tip looks better.

Yea but that's like saying that the solution to not crashing your planes is to not fly them. What fun is there in THAT?
