4 more flights on the Slick today. I can't believe how addicting this plane is! Any time I got out and fly its the first plane on my list! I am getting better at commanding this bird too. Too bad I couldn't stay at the field all day!

Does anyone know the Height of the 51 Slick Tail sitting on the wheels on the ground and the Height at the Canopy top and Cowl top behind the spinner sitting on the wheels?

Checking dimensions for the car interior or trunk. Got a Dodge Stratus and hope to fit a 51 in with the wings on.

Tail Height is a little over 15 inches and the Cowling is about 12.5 inches ... and the Canopy is about 13.5 inches.

Just put another 5 flights on my Slick. Man how I love this plane... it's so capable of anything I have the skill to throw at it, and just begs for more. I find I have to be very careful not to over control it, but I think it's making me a much better flyer.

I had my Dad video a couple flights today... he couldn't find the option to turn off autofocus, so hopefully it came out at least sort of watchable. I'll post it up later if it isn't a total blurry mess.

I managed to rip the gear out of my 51" AJ Slick ....

It should be an easy fix ... but now my 51" isn't pretty ....

But it should be ok for SEFF ....

Not exactly sure what happened ... I came in and the plane didn't want to stay on line ...

Normally it floats in nice but for some reason it seemed very out of control .... the crosswind didn't help.

It seems an aileron servo stripped ... which is weird because it was the wing that never hit the ground.

Could it have stripped in the air? That could be why it felt out of control.

I've stripped two HS85mg's (elevator servo) in the air. They had serveral contacts with the ground, which probably didn't help them.

I just finished fixing my Slick's LG and if your damage isn't any more than mine was, it can come out good enough to almost not even notice it.

On mine, the damage happened when I was coming in for a harrier landing and when it was only about 2 foot up, the wind just dropped to nothing. While 2 foot is nothing normally on the Slick, I believe mine had actually sustained the real damage after a 7 - 10 foot harrier drop I had done previously when I was knew I was out of time on my battery and I just rushed the landing too much. I normally land with at least a couple of minutes to spare, but this time I needed to let another pilot come in with an emergency and it took longer for him to land than expected as a result, I got too anxious.

Good luck on your repair wamsy55, hope it comes out as cleanly as mine did.

Randy

The new plate is already in ...

All I need to do is glue everything and get some balsa to replace some stringers.

And I also need to get some white covering.

I know that feeling.my edge was new until a landing similar to yours broke a gear and few stringers.I fixed it as good as new but now its old, lol.such is the life of a 3d plane.but it doesnt spoil the fun in flying.
