Talking about trimming a plane, I built a foamy once that needed not a single click of trim in any direction. I used sub-trim to get my control surfaces even but other than that the plane flew perfect. I have never had a plane like that since.

Trim? The 3DHS planes I have all you do is set your surfaces level put the battery anywhere in front of the spar and fly.

For the most part... I think the most I've ever needed was 6 combined clicks on my DX7.

I have to agree with the last couple posts. Ben's planes are great right out of the box! I squirt CA in to the box and give it a shake and out pops a perfect plane! Start with all the surfaces level and NEVER more than a couple clicks of trim and thirty seconds into your maiden you're doing blenders.

I think I just did harriers the first flight of my 51, waited until the second before doing a blender.

This is with the Hacker A30-12XL, with a 13x6.5 or 14x7 prop. I just want to make sure the battery has some head room and isn't overtaxed if it's 20C. I'm not planning on a lot of WOT, but don't want the occasional thrill-seeking to puff the battery.

Looking back on this thread (and the recommended equipment - a 70A ESC - jeez, how did I forget that?) I'm guessing a 20C 2650 would be hard pressed to survive, wouldn't it? I see people saying they are pulling 60+ amps.

on the 14x7 and a 20C pack I see around 55amps +/- at WOT. The constant rating on that pack is 53amps, so your WOT burst is just barely above the constant rating. The pack should be fine.

The 51'' slick will be the first 3dhobbyshop plane I have flown, but I have already backorderd a 47'' Extra 300 SHP. Cant weight till I maiden this bird.

I tell people if I can't do a blender on the maiden and really wring it out, I don't want it!!! That's what Ben's planes are all about. If some one thinks there's a problem with Ben's planes they are sadly mistaken! That's like saying Ferraris don't go fast. I'm just an average guy who REALLY loves to fly! When it's fogged in and you can only see 30 feet in each direction I pull a foamie out and FLY! Ben and his team take that feeling to the EXTREME! So if you have a problem, it's NOT the plane!!!

Guys, I`m putting one of these together, but I need a little help.. Any chance I can get some body to upload me a pic of inside of the fuselage with battery installed. I`m trying to get an idea where to mount receiver etc. exactly..I`m on 4 cell 2650s..thx....jason

batt goes way forward and rx sits at the rear end of the battery tray
