Just subscribing...I just love the looks of this plane.

Just getting into the RC thing. Can't get enough. Love It Have a couple foamies including a 3DHS but undecided for a balsa plane 51" AJ Slick or a 48" EF EXP EDGE. Read & hear great things about both. Any thoughts, comments, opinions?

My vote goes to the Slick, I have a 48exp, and for me I'd get a Slick.

even in "fixed" condition its a girl with a nice personality

The 70" seems to fly/feel much better than the 51". Maybe I haven't tuned it right.

started flying my 51

i do like it but i do prefer my 57 extra still. the extra seems to have a lot less wing rock and also coupling.

When i yank the sticks on the extra it doesnt drop a wing where the 51 wants to.

still have to fly it some more though to get more used to it i guess.

but i really like this size plane besides flying the bigger gasser. Somehow i prefer the 5x size over the 7x size.

cant wait to get my 59 to see how it flies though.

That doesn't sound right. My 57" is definitely more stable than my 51" Slick, but the Slick never wants to drop a wing......stuff just happens a little faster on it.

I know what you mean about liking the smaller planes. Stuff almost happens too slow on my 70" planes. I think I just need to get used to it though. I fly my little ones a lot more due to the convienence and places to fly them.

Hello, just wanted to share some pics of my new Slick that i am changing the covering on. Still have some minor details on it and cant wait to get it in the air. Plz let me know what you think

Yeah...probably in the setup. I love the 51.....mainly because I feel comfortable beating the crap out of it....high speed tumbles....dragging it around the ground....ect. Im much more cautious with the 70....no big tumbles.

I agree. I just got the RF with the expansion 7 yesterday. the 51slick is poor at best. seems much slower than my real one although I did see a comment that the 51 in expansion 7 flies like the 71. since my 71 is in construction I'll be finding out.

Now that takes the fun out of it. I beat the mess out of my 71. and I think it likes it. I have yet to throw anything at it it can not handle. Well beside dropping it on it rudder but I got the hinges replaced and all is good!

There are two things the slick 51 and 71 doesnt really like. Full throttle down line blender or tumble. I blew the servo gears out of the 51 3 times doing that and I haven't yet done it with the 71(I would hate to loose that plane) I have a back up but still

elec1800 - Looks great to me!

Losi - Full throttle blender is one of my favorites on the 51". The 71" is getting a little big for full-throttle downline maneuvers on a regular basis.
