Yippee!
3DHobbyShop 51" Andrew Jesky SLICK

I don't know about you guys, but I love how my AJ Extra as well as how my 3DH planes fly and the amount of abuse they can take. So when I found out that AJ is working with 3DH.... I was ecstatic. Here's the low down I've gotten from Mr. Peanut himself.

AJ Slick – Developed by Andrew Jesky

51” Wingspan
530 Square inches wing area
Weight 55-60 oz.

One-piece molded carbon fiber main landing gear
Aluminum HD wheel axles
HD wheels
Tiller-style tailwheel
Double-ball link/phenolic hardware package
New “AJ” color scheme done in Ultracote
Pre-drilled firewall w/ installed blind nuts
One-piece pre-molded canopy hatch with spring latch
Heavy-duty fully pre-assembled motor box
composite-reinforced landing gear plate

Intended for 150-170g outrunner motors (Hacker A30-XL, Torque 2812, GR 45, MotrolFly 2825)

13-15” props
3S 2500-3200mah
4S 2200-3200mah

Recommended motor combination includes:
Hacker A30 12XL on APC 14x7E and Airboss Elite 80, and 4S 2200 - 3000 Lipo

Other motors capable of powering the AJ Slick:
Hacker A30 10XL: 14x7 - 15x7 APC E on 3S 3000-4000 Lipo
APC 13x6.5E on 4S 2200-3000 20C Lipo

Torque 2814T/820: APC12x6E on 4S 2200 -3000 Lipo,
(APC 13x6.5) possible with good throttle management

(note Power 25 and Power 30 are too long to fit inside the Slick cowling)

Other possible ESC to use:
CC Phoenix 60 and 80 (with external BEC)
Hacker X70 Pro
Jeti Master Spin 66

Notes from the Head Peanut –

Andrew has designed a fantastic airplane for us. When we started this project, Andrew’s design goal was to produce an airplane with all the performance and features of a giant-scale plane in a medium-electric size. He wanted high-quality hardware, a strong design, very easy assembly – and this ARF delivers all that – along with stunning flight performance. No rock harrier, excellent snapping performance, powerful rudder…it’s all here in the AJ Slick. Watch for HD video of the Slick at SEFF on Fred Midgett’s Flightpass video site.

The Slick is expected to arrive into our warehouse in early September. The retail price is expected to be in the $219 range including custom wing bags. More news to come!

Oh no! not fair, I have resisted the Extra SR, we have had such bad weather, I have not even had the chance to fly my Velox, and I thought I was safe from having to buy yet another 3DHS plane and now they do this, its just not fair

I think you're safe for now . If I recall correctly from my conversation with Ben, they're currently in production, but I don't think there's enough self control to be able to prevent any 3DH koolaid junkies (not to mention the general public) from drooling and wanting one .

... Isn't MLT our spy over at SEFF? He's posting some great pictures from there. What a good way to provide Father / Daughter bonding time .

Yep, I will have my camera, laptop with aircard ready when Ben gives approval to post. Keep in mind that the connection with my aircard is not that great so I may only be able to post one or two pic from the field but I can post a bunch more Thursday night.

I've seen this new beauty in person and can attest to Ben's comments listed above in Josh's first post.

Of course what's even better is that Drew was on the sticks (that dude rocks).

Prepare yourself junkies, this one is going to blow you away.

This is indeed a dream com true. I have always loved the particular flying "style" of the AJ Extra. Mix that with the "style" of the Stoops/Fisher planes and produce them with with 3DHS innovation, quality and attention to detail. Oh man...

Without prying too much, can you tell us what size this one is?

I could be wrong, but I thought that I read somewhere that it would be 90 days before they are available.

correct you will be seeing nothing but prototype abuse at seff---roughly 90 days until they are delivered---trust me it will be worth it.
