Great stuff...as I mentioned I am not a draftsman...all I did was trace around the parts then scanned them....they are not too bad if you open them in photoshop but if you have autocad GREAT! please and thankyou...

I just saved each sheet to my FTP site as jpgs at 72DPI to keep the file sizes small but the info all the same scale...if that makes any sense...I am not sure how big the files can be if they are hosted by "RC Groups.com" or if you can? Maybe the moderator on this site can help us...if you want I will gladly host them I have loads of space on my FTP site.

Same deal as the original sketches, you'll probably have to scale them until they print properly, each of the images is supposed to fill an 8.5/11 size sheet...Worked fine for me in photoshop. There's a red scale on each sheet so you'll know when you've got it right

Sweet thanks Frank, I am going to try and make my stuff based on the new info I have. Now that we have dxf files of this boat we can cut some kits out on a CNC machine at and size!

Pimp, are you able to change the color of the lines, the yellow does not show up when printed.

Hope that works, if you want to do this yourself, just desaturate the image and turn the contrast up a little bit ^_^

If anyone wants the DWG/DXF file, PM me with your email and I'll get it off to you. I've made a couple changes to the plans to free up some space, the battery slot got opened up a bit, and has one side as an angle so you can fit a larger pack in, and I've radiused a couple of the inside corners in an attempt to reduce stress points.

Great Stuff...the boat has taken on a life of it's own.

Thanks for all the work...it should make the build even more fun! Ya some of our folks have eliminated the battery slot so that all sizes of packs can be tried. Good idea eliminating some of the stress points.

The boat around here has become a new class..."V's under 20" ...rather than call it the Dumas V we have been calling it the "Cracker-Jack" class Like the cornchips with a surprize in every box... a bit of a take on the Crackerbox...

What do you folks think? ...open to all suggestions...

Building mine now, it's by no means pretty, but it should be able to take a beating (1/16th spruce ply laminated to the proper thickness) the formers use just 1/16th ply with an extra layer or two along the keel and deck re-enforcements. Skinned in 1/16th balsa that I'll probably go over with a layer of GF and epoxy to make sure it's all together.

I'm a car guy and this is my first boat, I'm open to suggestions for hardware.

...I would like to try that...sure would be easier than srewing all those pieces of mahogany to the bottom as I did!

Can you make a quick sketch...scan it and show me how and where you would put it...would you put one on both sides?...transom?...or is this something that would be screwed to the bottom of the boat?

...what do you have in the way of a good hobby store in your area for getting the hardware bits like props, speed controls, motors...etc?

One fellow here is trying out an old dune buggy electric motor with the old servo operated 3 speed controler with the resitors hanging out in the breeze for cooling...proving anything is possible...he had it under the bench in a box for years...all you really need is two speeds...fast for the corners and faster for the straights...Heh,heh!

Haha, I've got a mamba 25 w/ 5400 Kv motor and a DX3...I've got a micro servo but I don't think it'll have the juice to turn the boat. I've got concerns that the motor will be a little small....

^^^^ That's my local hobby shop, it's mostly airplane stuff, but there's a section for cars (maybe 25% of the store) and a couple boat kits. I can get tubing for motor cooling and driveshafts/stuffing boxes. Haven't really looked for a rudder yet, worst comes to worst, I could order online, or even build one from scratch.

edit: went looking for some hardware:

Thanks for the fix on the drawings Pimp, I would love the CAD files on this if it is O.K. with Rewound to do this? I also think that Mamba is too small... may be better for the 75% version but also the KV may be high for it, 2600kv-3800kv in a Mamba size motor would do the trick I think for some killer performance with 3S lipo.

well it would be transom mounted and more or less like this http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...rod=kyo-94241b
think more along the lines of a dagger(triangular) than round (unless one springs for 1.5-2" Al stock, or elect to bend some flat stock ). if you want to turn l&r then you need 2. heh last time I put strakes on a boat, they were triangle balsa glued to the bottom(CA'd to harden). I'll see if I can manage to draw a turn fin.
