Hey!

I decided to move my weather reports, slope calls and misc. ramblings over to a new thread other than fill up the Soar Utah thread with non directly related Soar Utah stuff.

So basically this thread is to dicuss past, present and future conditions at the Point so people can kick themselves for missing a huge day (like Monday) see who might be showing up and checking in on what the winds might be like. Also I will be posting pictures and video from time to time.

So anyone with comments, news, pictures and videos bring it on!

You bet! The first link gives real time wind about .75 mile from POM at ground level. On Monday it was reading 24-29--and was blowing 40+ up above. So the point is no matter what this is reading, from the SOUTH, add to it for what it is doing on the slope.

Here is a wind map of the valley I find myself looking at a lot.

If you look for the weather station on the right when driving to the south side from the north you will know where UTALP is.

On the map it is just off the left corner of that little blue window, my cursor did not show up in the screen shot.

It should also be mentioned that when the wind is from the north there is a DS spot up on the back hill but you have to hike to it.

That is a great map. I have not seen it before. Excellent resource.

oday: Partly sunny, with a high near 75. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 18 mph increasing to between 26 and 29 mph. Winds could gust as high as 43 mph.

What was the wind speed today, did you check it?

When I left it was 53 and then higher...Had to leave--too much debris in the air, small rocks, bushes, chairs etc...
