Turnigy motor, shaft on wrong way.
Hi all,
I have this motor: Turnigy motor trouble is I need the shaft to be coming out the other end. I am relatively new to the hobby and wondering how to do this. Is it simply a matter of removing the circlip and the little grub screw and hammering it  Some info from those in the know would be very helpful, Many thanks, Alex |

A vise will work. They will push out easily, but don't try using a hammer. Steady pressure is what is needed.

You don't necessarily need to move the shaft - the thing on the right hand side of the photo bolts onto the rotating side of the motor and takes a prop with an 8mm hole (I know because I've just bought that exact motor)
I also bought one of their smaller motors, and knocked the shaft through with a hammer (I'll use a vice next time!) - it wasn't hard. |

What RobinBennet said. I just received the 50-55 motor, and this is how I have it set up. Use the socket head screws provided to mount the included prop adapter to the side opposite the shaft.

Fair point guys but if I do it that way I have to either mount the engine lower or higher than it should be (6-7mm or so) or remove a bit of strength from behind the firewall as it's in the way of the shaft.
Also the shaft will be rotating extremely close to a big LIPO.I think I'll do it similar to the above but box the shaft in a bit, just to keep the batts safe and replace some of the strength lost from cutting. You guys have been great. Thank you. Alex |
