Mons AeroMusicals WAG selection contest
Hi all,
The World Air Games selection contests circuit moved to Belgium this week end where the second AeroMusicals WAG selection contest was scheduled in the superb Mons-Lotto-Expo hall. This time Donatas Pauzuolis won the trophy after a very close final fight with Belgian champion Benoit Dierickx. It was a pity Gernot was flying at the same time at ETOC but they will be opposed again at the next International in Italy in June, flying in the superb Palaruffini Sports Palace. The semi-finals saw a close fight with Dutch champion Derk v.d. Vecht securing third place in front of French champion Fabien Turpaud who tried too hard and hit the ground during his flight. Interestingly, Donatas and Benoit had widely different styles, with Benoit flying a very dynamic schedule to a single music piece while Donatas mixed six or seven different pieces of varied rhythms in his 2-minute program. Both flyers flew while spectators enthusiastically kept marking the rhythm loudly clapping with their hands. At the end the two opponents were separated by the smallest of margins: one half point from a possible maximum 150. The contest was blessed with high quality newcomers to the international scene, most notable being Argentinian Andres Leoni and young Hungarian Gyula Inzsöl (who couldn't stand the stress and gave the best of himself only during later demo flights). A few pictures will show what it was about. FAI guy

Benoit is incredible person in first place, his character is really unique, not mentioning his flying skills, fact that he place in 13th place in world F3A championship say all!
I can say that Benoit Fusion is really unique plane from test flight i had chance to make in last year 3D college event; http://www.pauzuolis-rc.com/stories/...ng-fusion.html Even when it is two times heavier than any modern shockflyer type AM plane, Fusion fly very light and predictable, snap rolls are very easy and close to real (F3A snaps) because of airfoil and trust vector system. One thing is for sure Benoit and his Fusion will take deserved place in indoor models history. |
