It wil just stay as it its. I think, that it would be nonsence to redesign the tail as outlook will lose its soul.
Also why change it when majority of builders get caught by Guppy outlook.

If I remember, sowhere in the previous part of Guppy thread, I told, that Guppy is not for first time builder. Builder need some previous experience with making wooden seroplanes.

Anyway, if you succseed in your redesign, I am glad if you are happy with it.

Off course, it would be nice from you if you show us your modification, so if anyone feel the same as you, he can use your way to do it.

Regarding the tail, elevator and rudder, they are not in a way of each other if are build and assembled according to plans, and if you stay within deflections as written on the plans.
If elevator and rudder touch themselves, it is obvious, that something is made, assembled or set wrong.

BTW, I flew also real aeroplanes
Blanik L13, Pilatus B4, UL Storch, Hang gliders, Paragliders and Trike.

Have a nice day!

Well said!

Perhaps he should develop some building skills.

An (old) joke came trough my mind...

How do you recognize a pilot in a bar or pub?
"You dont need to, as he will tell you by himself, that he is a pilot!"

Wish a nice day to all of you!

(this one is thinner, so I am not sure if is strong enough for Guppy)
I ordered the carbon tube from Hobbycity for a look-see. It might be a bit light but seems well made so I'm going to use it. If it fails I'll let you know!

I also got a larger tube, 11mm O/D, with a view to building a 2m Guppy or possible enlarging the design to 2.5m.

You can follow my build thread here:

Thanks to Mitja for sharing the comprehensive plans.

MS
MS, I enjoyed browsing trough your daddyhobby forum, where you described building of your Guppy in detail. I like your attention to details.
Also, you did a great job making photos during assembly.

It looks, that you are very close to the maiden flight! I wish you many rewarding and enjoable flights!

I am allmost totaly speachless.......

Most of us, build models for flying, not for crashing...

6-mins, you deviated so much from my plans, that I cant help you with any suggestions about your model. You are on your own now. Sorry, but that is my opinnion.

Best luck!
