Boogie Board Rescue Boat.

Heres a quick build rescue boat (5-1/2 hours plus painting) Made it from a kids boogie board & some motors shafts & batteries ripped out of those cheap NQD boats. Turns out to be a fun boat in it's own right. No rudders just vector thrust steering but with real ESCs.
Enjoy.
Paul.

Thanks guys. It's a whole lot of fun. I had a bit of trouble uploading the video but it's done now. A bit blurry. I need a better camera.

I liked the confidence that 785boats had in his project. Sent out an unpowered ship to prove his work would work.

Very nice project. A service that we all have needed at one time or another. Lat time it happened to me I remember getting very wet!

Cool idea,i like the foam (non scratchy) part of the concept.
Definately something to add to my production list.(If I ever get this house of mine finished)

Damn! I wish I was building a house. Lord knows I need more room. Hey 785boats what a fantastic idea. I hope those motors hold in the styrofoam ok. Maybe a lead fishing sinker or two on the bow would hold t down. Looks like a hydroplane to me. Nice work and the Moonglow looks great too. Lot's of nice mahogany there. Nice work guy. Pete

Glad you all like the idea.
Actualy Pops52 I wasn't that confident. I did spend a few minuites getting the hang of it before I pushed the Moonglow out into the pond.
Thanks for the comments on the Moonglow Pete. It's one of my favorite old boats.
Maybe some steps under the sponsons & 2 ducted fan units on top of the board so it can retrieve boats from the weeds. Now that would be fun. Someone's gotta do it. Anyone?
'til later.
Paul.

i guess it wouldn't be as cheap then.....you'd need something fairly substantial i'd say to be effective.a cool idea nonetheless.

Boogie Board

Sujper: I was just about ready to throw away a boogie board and when I saw your thread, I decided that would be my next project after I complete my PT 61. Our club has a retrieve boat but somtimes we need somthing else.

Could you post more details on the motors, esc and batteries you used and maybe a pic of the interior of cockpit.

Great idea.
