900mhz, 1.3ghz, or 2.4ghz?

what are the difference between the three and which one has the best range and quality?

900MHz - is the best. It is legal only in USA.
2.4 GHz is legal everywhere, but it is can work bad with 2.4 Ghz transmitters nearby.
1.3 GHz is legal in Europe for radio hobbyists.

Who did used 1.3 GHz how is it good compared to 2.4 GHz?

I'm using 1.3ghz now. i used to use 2.4ghz and i used to get allot of multi path issues. but now with 1.3ghz i get less interference and I'm only using the stock antennas. it is only 300mw though not 500mw.

Edit: also i can't notice any differnace in video quailty. but i can tell a differnace in sound quality slightly, but all you hear is the motor so it doesn't bother me .

lee2005,

Do u have GPS onboard your plane? GPS use a couple of frequencies (e.g., signal L1 is 1575.42MHz.) Any interference between the GPS and 1300MHz VideoTx.?

Has anyone here use 900MHz for FPV when a GSM basestation is located ~500 meters away? To be more precise, it is a GSM 900/1800.

So,
1.3GHz is great. But what about GPS?
900Mhz is said to be better at going through obstacles. But what about GSM inteference 500m away?
2.4GHz is ok. Until those 2.4GHz RC Tx got swicthed on.

Rgds,
fuhan

also you should know is much more easy to find 2,4 ghz antenas than 900 or 1,3 ghz,

2,4 ghz is used everywhere, microwaves, wifi, bluetooth... so you need go to a "clean" area for a better reception.

as lower the frecuency, then better the object penetration. 900 will performe better in a house than 2,4 ghz.

has highter the frecuency, then tinyer the antena. a 2,4 ghz 3dbi antena is smaller than a 3dbi antena of 900 mhz.

also you should know that...
with a a 300 mw output power at 1,3 ghz you will get the same range than a 500 mw at 2,4 ghz transmitter
so highter not always means better.

hope it help you the decide wich one fits better your needs.
