the medusa sucks some amps. its rated at 44watts but i thing it draws more.
the motor comes with screws. that is a very cheap esc i hope it holds up. cheap stuff usually doesn't.

Medusa Powered W52#

Just finished another BL Conversion on a Walkera 52#.
parts used:
Medusa 4100Kv Afterburner 12MM BL Motor
CC10 Esc
64#C Main Blades, and Skids
8Tooth Pinoin
480mah 10C walkera li-po
speed controller settings:
auto lipo
voltage cut off: normal
brakeff
throttle type:auto calibration
timing advance:high syco-headspeed!
low voltage cut off:soft cut off
soft start: soft start
it feels dialed in now i like the CC esc better than the Feigao for sure.
it just cost so damn much
cheers, johnw

you can find some lipos with the right dimensions but you will have to remove the stock battery tray and use velcro llike i did look at the photos i just posted.i wouldn't run bigger than a 10tooth pinoin heaspeed will be too high and the Medusa will get too hot and you may fry the esc. the battery needs to have a JST battery connector on it. try to keep battery weight below 46grams.

i will be getting the pinions at the end of the week hopefully. i am still working on where i can get the perfect battery in terms if weigh vs. current output vs. size.in that write up is says to use the main motor port for the BL esc, do not! use the main motor port for the BL esc. this will not work properly. you must solder onto the PC board of the rx and tap the pink and white wires from the opposite side of the board. this is the proper location for powering the BL esc.

yeah I am having trouble finding a battery myself that includes the jst connector. The thunder powers have a jst but then they dont have the balance charger connectors.. just the 2 wire jst connector.

this one looks close but it is 50grams

do I want to go with 2 cell or 3 cell?

Also that website talks about reprogramming the TX.. i gues that is not necessary.

if you go 2S you will have a problem with the tail motor holding it's designed for 3S operation. so i stayed with 3S to keep things simpler. the TP lipos are heavy 50+ grams i have them for my Gaui but too heavy for this heli. you will have a problem with blades too. the stock blades can't handle the Medusa's speed they crack and self destruct!my tx settings:SWITCH 10:V1=60%,V2=80%SWITCH 11:V1=0%,V2=80%SWITCH 12:V1=-10% V2=80%

Until my VP tail mod is done I fly my #52 with an Esky HB tail motor on 2S, holds better than the stock motor on 3S, plastic pinion from a 4#3 main motor is a direct fit.

Those blades are a little bit longer than stock you may get tail rotor/main rotor contact on hard landings but i'm not positive on this. the battery looks good try it.
