Tower Pro Motor to Replace Eflite Power 25

Just as the title says! The Eflite motors are a hit in my wallet, and Tower Pro motors are nice and inexpensive.

Has anyone done this and could tell me what a good replacement motor is with similar specs and similar installation procedure? I put two Tower Pro motors on the Eflite P-38 with only minimal changes to the entire procedure, and I liked that convenience.

This is about as close as I can see - a bit lighter, slightly higher Kv, but if one believes the HC specs (ha!) about the same power handing capacity.

I just got that motor for my P-38 since it matches the Park 450 fairly well! Now I am a bit worried!!!

That motor is nothing like the park 450!!! It is almost three times more powerful. I would recommend a Scorpion 3014 or 3020 as a replacement for the Park 25. I wouldn't use a tower pro motor at that size when scorpion is quite inexpensive.

For a good Park 450 replacement, the Tower Pro Bm2409-18D is ok.

???? the Park 450 is about 150W (14A cont.)... we are talking 500W+ here????

The E-flite Power 25 is said to be good for 550W peak (optimistic?) and the HXT 605W peak (v. optimistic?).

Yes, you are right on the watts. Thanks for seeing that, I would have been in major trouble there!

is this the tower pro motor you were referring to?

The 2nd one has a higher Kv than I wanted, but I don't know. I think the first one is what you referred to, and that would do the job on the Eflite P-38.

Sorry for getting off-topic here, but I guess I have my motors to replace the Power 25's! Now to get some 40A(?) ESC's for it.

EDIT: What would be the harm in limiting the ATV of the throttle channel in the radio to less than 50%? That should keep the watts down in the low 200's or high 100's depending on the setting. I don't see that as permanent, but its a start, yes?
