Your probably right. But it was still a good educated guess.

Yes, it was. And it is indeed not needed on the small MiMi. I've used several rudders, some just "rounded off" on all sides, some asymmetrical, some sanded into a real airfoil. None of that mattered in terms of launching or flying. Usually a few clicks down + right trim (I'm a right hand thrower) on your launch is enough to get a straight launch.

So, I hope you have a computer Tx in which this can be programmed
Otherwise, don't pay too much attention to weight, especially when it's a bit windy the MiMi needs it. Finished around 200 grams is still fine, lighter is of course ok, then attach some strips of lead to the underside of the wing (there's space for it), pieces of about 10 gram each will do.

I'm using Dyamond D47's normally but MiMi will fly perfectly with Pico's or even HTX500's from unitedhobbies. hardly matters.
What might be a good idea when you haven't finished your wing yet is give it ailerons. That will help in launch (ailerons 2-4% up will give you a few more meters of hight) and enable faster, smaller turns when needed. And of course it's a lot of fun (You could leave out the rudder that way too, less weight to the tail!) Rudderless ships fly just as good but also launch higher.

What is the actual idea of your competition? Who can throw the highest, fly the longest..?

What servos will work with a 3.7V 1S Lipo setup?
Most of them start at 4.8V.

Some people are using these little devices to safely run things on single cell lipos. I have no experiance with them myself but I have seen plenty of positive reports. This is just an example.

That represents 100% success on the handful of servo types I've tried.

I'm also curious how that voltage booster would work on a 4 servo all digi DLG. Does it have a current limit that might put the plane at risk. Right now, not knowing, I feel safest with a direct hookup to my single cell lipo.

I finally got to try the Mimi I built for my son. He and I got together today, I had a 60 inch dlg I just got assembled and he had his Mimi.Ive flown it before ,but limited myself so I wouldnt break it. Today there was no limit. It was alot more comfortable to fly than the 60 inch dlg.It didnt go as high but the flight time sure seemed just as long and very controlable.Hand catches with no problem. My next 1 I was goin to try and streamline the fuse but now I can see Frans did his homework on this design. Aint changing a thing.
