I really don't know that much about matching planes with electric motors. i matched the second number on the recomended motor to the second number on the hobbycity motor.? I also want to know what ESC too.

I think that motor is too light and fast for that plane. They reccomend a motor that weighs about 56 grams and needs a 12 amp speed controller.

You want a lower kv rating. Something like this http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6549

or this

Someone else might like to qualify this or give other reccomendations.

that plane's about the same size and weight as the NASTY.

Look in the plans section and see what they're using. I think you need a little bigger motor and esc.

I've just completed a 50% reduced size build of this plane. Tomorrow I'll be driving to Orlando to pick out my motor, ESC and batteries.

Total weight (AUW) will be 8.3 oz.

I've selected the BP A2208-14 for my brushles motor.

BP 18A Brushless ESC

Either a 7.4V or 11.1V Thunder Power 1320mAh battery. Depends on if the 7.4V will power my ESC with three servos connected.

8x4 prop. should give me between 110 and 120 watts with the 11.1V battery, 75 watts with the 7.4V and a 9x5 prop.

The description of the motor says it's good for 3D planes around 8oz and aerobatics up to 12oz.

I've included a few pics.

Any comments are welcome. This is my first venture into Foamies.

Do you think a KF airfoil will work with this plane?
