A-10 Wart Hawg Cartoon Fattie...

With encouragement by Sixter, I went and drew up new plans for a cartoon fattie of the famous A-10. I've still yet to finish the plans, but do have enough as a teaser, enough to get some builders started. I've cut out enough to get started, using FFF PB III material. Lets do one together, and finalize the sweetheart, shall we?
Mine will be using a pusher prop, simply because I don't have any EDF's suitable. You can use any power plant you wish, just make the necessary mounts.
This will be using ailerons and elevator for control, but you can add rudder if you please. Full length ailerons is possible (simple method, dihedral at root), but I've drawn it as outer ailerons as the original, with the dihedral mid-wing.
Simple is how I like it, so this plane is built as such, using several bends, two formers, and a K-F wing.
Edit... I went and did a few updates to these plans, based on the prototype construction.

Sharpie marker paint job. Makes for an unusual looking plane, should be black, but I don't usually like one colored planes. I perfer to have some red on the bottom to see the plane well as it flies, and a contrasting color (blue) on top.

Box... glad you're interested. I've always liked the A-10 (a few were stationed here some years back), but never made one, til now. I still need to draw up plans for the bottom and top of the plane, jet cowlings, and a few other parts, and will do so tomorrow.

The best I can guesstamate by the waves in the bluecor it's 24 in. by 36 in.
Can't wait to get the plans,the warthog is one of my favorite planes.

Thanks for posting this...looks like a great project for my students as we enter the 4th quarter at the school I teach at. I fund all of the "fun" projects, so this one is a winner!

If memory serves, its 22 inches long, 32 inches wing span. Its funny how I can't remember this, even after drawing up the plans yesterday!
Edit... it is as I thought, 22x32.

Wing set.
Edit... When putting the wing together I recommend making the wing's center section as one-piece, and not installing the mid-wing "bomb pylons" yet, so the wing can be slid into the wing mount hole. I goofed, and will have to remove one pylon to slip the wing in. Making the wing's center section as one-piece makes for a better, strong, more accurate wing, too.
