I haven't been here fore a wile , sorry. I have nearly covered a Saab S17BS finish . Hope to make a tread for you if you want to see a Swedish seaplane

Looks like it flys really nice!

Nice video and I liked the stills at the end.
And those stills with the beautiful mountains in the background are fantastic!

The music isn't bad either! And I just happen to love Lobsta' Stew!!! Good stuff.

Hi Guys/Girls,

As mentioned previously in January, I will build a larger version of the old Steam Pidgeon, a true sea going variant. Fills the gap left by the Stranraer.
Planing on around the 50~55" span. Easier to see and handle the waves.
It will be a 'slow time' build but I'll keep you posted, I plan to a use more reliable aerofoil section and have plenty of adjustment for the thrust line, the Nemesis

of my last Walrus. cheers,

I've just decided its time i dig out the walrus plan, and build it
This will be the first time i've built in depron

having spent my life as a balsa basher!!!! LOL

any hints/tips on making it fly right? what is the best thrustline? does the one on the plan work?

A pic of my walrus I have a old video of it flying at lake havasu aprox. 10 years ago. 8ft span. I am going to do a complete refinish and get it back in the air. Jim

what was yours like to fly? and what thrust line did you use? i've just been hearing horror stories about 'kingfisher' dives, and lots of trim changes

anyway, progress continues
the wing mounts are on for the lower wing, and the upper centre section is made

The V bottom, is under way, finishing 2moz, hopefully

As you may have noticed I've been lacking in the foam Walrus department for a while, side tracked back to Autogyros and experimental stuff, so I will keep an envious eye on your project, keep up the great work, Cheers,

It was this build log, that actually inspired me to dig out the plan and build it in the first place.
Progress this morning...
v-bottom panels on.

Wing struts under construction
Engine nacelle rattling around with a few ideas in my brain...

and a mountain of UNIVERSITY work pilling up that i really should be doing instead of this

ALSO just a quick question????
the plan shows no side thrust, and thrustline angled up towards the tip of the rudder. All 3 views i can find show lots of right/down thrust.
Your one seemed to change its thrust lines quite a lot during its life, which ones worked best?
